Scholarships, Mentorship, and More

Greetings, 

As we approach the conclusion of this fraternal year, I can not help but to reflect on the progress we have made as a chapter. The chapter has been hard at work this year with the evidence to show for it. We started off the semester strong with our annual Alpha Week of programming beginning with the 26th Annual Pharaoh's Ball. Throughout the semester, we have been committing ourselves to academic excellence by instituting programs for the betterment of all brothers such as study hours and academic partners. We have continued to grow in our effort to provide service and advocacy for our communities through the development of a mentorship program at Paul Robeson High School that is being looked at as a model for other chapters to follow. We also have established a scholarship, the Raymond Pace Alexander Annual Scholarship, for graduating Black male seniors in the City of Philadelphia. We have been committing ourselves to upholding the aims, mission, and motto of our illustrious fraternity. As I look toward the future, I get excited to see where the chapter is headed especially with the addition of seven new brothers. The Spring 2019 line of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Psi Chapter has entered this chapter with the same mentality of growth and execution. They will continue to hold the light of Alpha high as we strive to make Psi the greatest chapter in the fraternity. Along those lines, we are actively preparing to compete at the 87th Eastern Region Convention for Chapter of the Year, Brother of the Year (Bro. Montell D. Brown), and Belford V. Lawson Oratorical Competition (Bro. Isaiah R. Washington). I have faith in our abilities to strengthen the bonds we share while continually doing the work of Alpha everyday in everything that we do. Collectively, Psi chapter has evolved to truly experience triumph.
